Murphy, NC— Shortly after 6 pm on April 05, 2012 a search for 2 year old Austin Frey was commenced after it was reported that Austin had followed a family pet into the woods just below his residence. The search for the missing toddler has been a combined effort of local rescue squads, volunteer fire departments, local law enforcement as well as law enforcement personnel from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol as well as law enforcement from Georgia. The search has included use of tracking K9 units from Georgia. Search teams have scoured the countryside where the toddler was last seen. All through the night volunteers have offered valuable assistance to join in the search for Austin.
As the search continues this morning volunteers are encouraged to join in the effort to locate Austin. If you wish to provide assistance in the search please report to the Cherokee County Department of Social Services so that you assistance can be maximized to find Austin.

Bud & Aaron helped in the search until 5 this morning...I stayed up all night & prayed! I am amazed at the outpouring of love our community has shown for this little boy and his family! I pray that he is found safe & unharmed and returned home quickly! God bless all those involved in finding this precious baby!
