Murphy, NC— John Pate, a 36 year old Murphy man who now lists a Kindards South Carolina address was placed back in jail after a hearing in District Court on February 02, 2011.
Pate, originally arrested in October of 2010 on charges of sexually assaulting a child and producing child pornography appeared in District Court on February 02, 2011. At the time of his release instructions that Pate was not to have any contact with the victim or the victim’s family were placed as a condition of Pate’s release from custody. During a hearing in District Court on Wednesday February 02, 2011 information was presented to Judge Walker who found evidence that Pate had violated the conditions of contacting the family of the victim. Judge Walker ordered Pate to be confined on an additional $30,000.00 bond making the bond total $50,000.00. Additionally conditions remain on Pate that he is to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.
Pate posted a secure bond the following day and is out on bail pending a court date later in February 2011.
People who violate parole in such serious cases should never be given bond. It is a known fact that a pedofile cannot be rehabilitated. One can administer drugs to keep him from being sexually aroused but he is still a pedophile and still has other means of molesting and harming children. These children and their families should certainly be spared any contact from the pedophile. If a parent allows that contact, despite the court's ruling, the parent should also face charges.
ReplyDeleteIt is ridiculous that pedophiles are ever offered probation, parole or bonds. They are a danger to society and since they cannot be rehabilitated, they should be locked up for life!!!
This is a bit different from the 18 year old caught having sex with his 16 year old girlfriend. This case involved a much older man and a CHILD!!! GEEZ...when is justice ever to be given to the innocent if we keep protecting this scum's rights????
